Berlin

We went to Berlin in February this year, besides it being very cold, it was as equally inspirational.
I missed the night life due to getting far too cold and making myself ill. :(
(If you go when it is going to be cold, wrap up - but wear loose layers- I wore tight ones and it didn't work.)

However there was some fabulous graffiti and sticker inspiration which I found whilst we were mooching round during the day. I will be using this and the grafs I found in New York to make some Zines.

If you are ever in Berlin i would suggest visiting the Anne Frank museum- not so much for the museum itself, more for the alley it is situated in.

FULL of illustrative inspiration. I didn't know where to look first and was so glad I took an extra memory card for my camera! When there head for the Neurotitan book shop and gallery (that's if you make it past the alley). One piece of advice I would give you- take spares- both batteries and memory cards.

Eating out in Berlin is very much the same as the UK - you can get very good food at decent prices, or you can pay that little bit more the classier you go. We shopped around and found some great little italian bistros, but the best place we found was White Trash and Fast Food http://www.whitetrashfastfood.com/restaurant/

What an experience! The menu has to be seen to be believed, you can get your burgers rare if that's how you want them and they do a heavenly mash and gravy!!

As if the food wasn't enough the restaurant is an eclectic mix of new and old- with barbie legs hanging out of lampshades, old letter pressed posters, picnic style table clothes and some good old rock pumping out of the speakers for some interesting background noise. I felt so at home I want to go back to Berlin just to eat here every night, I miss it !

Freelancing

As my confidence and abilities have grown, I have been promoting my skills and as a result have gained a few freelancing opportunities. One of these was a logo redesign for a bespoke jewelry company.

Sharon makes all of her own jewelry by hand and also uses recycled glass, which she kiln fires, to make beautiful, one off pieces of jewelry.

She finds art art nouveau inspirational and wanted this to feature in her logo. However, she also wanted something that was simple and clean, that reflected her product range.

You can find Some fabulous pieces at the following linkhttp://www.facebook.com/pages/Reflect-fused-glass-jewellery/169120204823?ref=ts#!/pages/Reflect-fused-glass-jewellery/169120204823

New York, New york.

Hi, it's been rather a long time since I have even looked at this blog and thought it was about time that I posted some of the things I have been up to since my last post.

In between working hard on my uni briefs I have been doing a little traveling and visiting new places and exhibitions for inspiration.

Of course one of these places was the city so good they named it twice. I loved it!

So much inspiration, more than I could take in in one trip and I can't wait to go back.
